With over 30 years of teaching extrusion coating and over 35 years in selling extrusion coating equipment, I can improve the knowledge your engineers and seasoned operators already have.
A fresh perspective from an outside voice can often jump start innovation and understanding of your operation. Let me be that voice.
Teaching is more than simply imparting information you have accumulated over the years; it’s doing it in a way that is understandable and will be retained by those who hear it. As a “finest faculty” member of the Tappi Extrusion Coating faculty, I have that ability.
Retention of employees is a common complaint amongst converters. By taking an operator that has gone through an initial trial period, I can help minimize the “drinking from a fire hose” problem that can often result in operator’s getting frustrated and quitting.
There is no need to turn an operator into an expert on all things related to your extrusion coating line, but having them understand how a screw works, why barrel profiles are critical in insuring proper functioning of the screw, or all the variables that make an unwind work, will help them understand their role in insuring high outputs, quality and profits.
Often teaching by using examples directly from your plant ensures optimum retention of the subject matter. I can provide the same engineering and operator training above, using your actual equipment designs and functionality in my presentations.
The best way to train your people is through face-to-face interaction. It’s easier to create an environment where questions are asked and answered. Also, we have all been on a TEAMS meeting while your attention is diverted by other tasks. This is more difficult to do when the trainer is in the same room. With that being said, all training programs described above can be provided via a TEAMS meeting instead of face to face.
It’s important to get off on the right foot as you evaluate new projects. When there appear to be multiple paths in front of you, we can work together and ascertain which path is fraught with pitfalls and should be avoided.
Considering getting into extrusion coating with used equipment or want to add to your existing assets? I can help you evaluate what you are looking at before you buy.
Either separate from training or as a part of it, bring me your problems. How can you go faster? How can you improve the quality of what’s coming off your line? How can you increase the breadth of products your line can run at minimal cost? Let me help you get those answers and increase your profits.
